# What is ERC-H20?

ERC-H20 (Hybrid ERC-20) is a new, liquid standard designed to bring tokens and communities together, seamlessly on-chain.

With the standard already fully-audited, we've already begun working with the best in class on HyperEVM to bring ERC-H20 to life.

We’re teaming up with [@LiquidLaunchHL](https://x.com/@LiquidLaunchHL), the leading token launchpad on Hyperliquid, to create an entirely new product experience. We’re combining their expertise in all things fungible tokens with everything we’ve built around jpegs to reshape how people trade, speculate, and build around assets on Hyperliquid.

This is our first big leap into the world of tokens. We’ll unveil a larger hybrid vision in the coming months - but rollout starts now.

ERC-H20 will be the gateway to onboard the masses to $HYPE.

***

ERC-H20 allows token founders to unlock the best part of fungible and non-fungible tokens through mechanism designs centered around community nucleation.

Previous attempts to combine fungible and non-fungible tokens (think ERC-404s) had promise, but ran into issues:

* No collectible meaning: once you transfer a 404, it’s no longer unique.
* Rigid logic: the NFT ↔️ token bonding was immutable and couldn’t evolve.
* Short lifespans: most tokens today are flash-in-the-pan – no longevity.

Imagine the hundreds of potential runners that never came to be because they had all the ingredients for success but they didn’t have the right mechanics. We need better tools to support projects over time and let founders stay creative. That’s what ERC-H20 is built for.
